Institute for Global Awareness is an interdisciplinary educational and service organization established to create individualized knowledge and understanding that will be an invaluable asset in our globalized world.

Our objective is to develop skills and promote cultural understanding which will prepare high school students and communities at large for the increasingly connected world and help to insure competitiveness by providing courses that focus on human cultural geography, geographic information systems, intercultural communications and foreign languages. Besides conveying concepts and terminologies essential to the field through lectures, class discussions, map quizzes, games, research, learning activities and embassy visits, the courses will provide exercises to allow students to expand their skills in reading, writing and speaking, and will raise awareness of career opportunities in the area of geography and international relations.
